Our Story

Founders Niamh, a dysphagia chef, and Siobhan, an expert in financial management, came together in 2021, driven by their frustration with the limited options available for those facing swallowing and chewing challenges. They believed that everyone deserves better meal choices and a wider variety of options.

Together, they set out to achieve a straightforward goal: to enhance daily dining experiences. They transformed bland purees into delicious, nutritious, and easily recognisable meal and snack items. Their journey involved extensive research in collaboration with Teagasc, dietitians, and speech and language therapists. They explored the potential of using food molds and designed custom recyclable packaging to both shape and protect the product.

They meticulously tested recipes to ensure safe use with the IDDSI Framework. Consequently, OCRAS was established—a passionate group of individuals united in their mission to revive the joy of food.

With OCRAS, Niamh and Siobhan are not just providing a product; they are fostering a community where the joy of eating is accessible to all, reaffirming their belief that food is a universal language of love and connection.
